Japanese prefectural boards announce 2027 high school entrance exam details
Educational authorities in Toyama and Osaka prefectures have released implementation guidelines for the 2027 high school entrance examinations.
In Toyama Prefecture, the Board of Education announced that recommendation-based selection for full-time high schools will be held across 27 schools and 62 departments. The total number of available recommendation slots is 1,152, a decrease of 21 compared to the previous year. Changes in department structures were noted, specifically at Tonami Technical High School, which will transition its existing departments into new programs for mechanical systems, electrical information systems, and regional design.
In Osaka Prefecture, the Board of Education published details for the 2027 public high school admissions, specifically focusing on the Step School integrated courses at Nishinari and Misaki high schools. Applicants can choose between in-person interviews or written interview formats. The selection process will evaluate academic performance and student motivation through a weighted scoring system involving academic tests, school reports, and interview assessments.
