Japanese professional baseball coaching changes

Kenji Yano has been appointed as the first-team batting chief coach for the Hanshin Tigers. During a press conference in Nishinomiya, Yano, formerly a roving batting coach for the Yomiuri Giants, expressed his long-standing passion for the Tigers, noting that his interest in baseball was sparked by watching games at Koshien Stadium.

Yano, who previously coached at Nippon Ham, intends to focus on developing players such as draft pick Tateishi. He is scheduled to participate in the team's training camp in Aki, Kochi, starting November 1.

Meanwhile, Takeshi Yamasaki is set to become the batting coach for the Chunichi Dragons. Yamasaki, a former home run king in both the Central and Pacific Leagues, accepted the role following a request from manager Kudo. There is high expectation from former players and club officials for Yamasaki to utilize the baseball theories he learned under manager Katsuya Nomura to strengthen the Dragons' lineup, particularly for right-handed hitters.
