Japanese prosecutors charge suspects in Fukui robbery and Niigata child‑abuse cases

In Fukui Prefecture, prosecutors announced that four men aged 20 to 27 have been charged with robbery causing personal injury after a group of eight suspects assaulted two teenage boys in a parking lot on June 4, seizing money and inflicting serious wounds. Two other male suspects were sent to family court, and a 21‑year‑old man and a 19‑year‑old woman were not prosecuted.

Separately in Niigata City, a 32‑year‑old unemployed man and his 42‑year‑old wife were re‑arrested on charges of violating child‑welfare laws after allegedly forcing a minor under 16 to engage in sexual acts with a 41‑year‑old woman and, previously, with a 37‑year‑old man. The investigation uncovered the offenses during a probe of related crimes.
