Japanese railway operators introduce new regional travel passes and Park‑&‑Ride promotion

JR Shikoku and the Tosa Kuroshio Railway announced a joint Park & Ride campaign in Kochi prefecture. From 1 August to the end of October, passengers who purchase a qualifying train ticket can use dedicated parking facilities for free or at a discount, with a chance to win JR Shikoku travel vouchers and local product catalog gifts.

JR East introduced the “Chiba 2‑Day Pass” in partnership with Chiba‑prefecture transport operators. The pass offers unlimited travel on participating JR lines, private railways, buses and the Tokyo Bay Ferry for two consecutive days. It will be sold in two periods starting August 2026, with English‑language support for foreign tourists and additional benefits such as free bike rentals and station‑area discounts.
