Japanese regional governments host migration and employment fairs in Tokyo

Various Japanese regional governments are hosting promotional events in Tokyo to encourage migration and support local revitalization.

Imabari City in Ehime Prefecture will hold a migration fair on October 11 in Yurakucho, Tokyo. The event focuses specifically on employment, offering consultations regarding career changes, entrepreneurship, farming, and civil service roles. The fair aims to provide concrete career paths for potential migrants, featuring discussions with city officials and individuals who have successfully relocated to the area.

Additionally, the Hokkaido Prefectural Government is organizing a two-day event on October 10 and 11 in Hamamatsucho, Tokyo. This event highlights the charms of 31 different municipalities within Hokkaido, focusing on the ‘Local Revitalization Cooperator’ program and the ‘Furusato Nozei’ (hometown tax) system. Attendees can consult with local officials, learn about regional specialties, and hear firsthand experiences from residents to help facilitate settlement and community involvement in Hokkaido.
