Japanese restaurant chains roll out family-friendly discount campaigns

Two major Japanese restaurant brands are running limited-time family promotions.

Shabu‑shabu Onyasai’s “Family Support Campaign” runs from July 21 to August 27, offering a 20 % discount on weekdays and 10 % on holidays for all‑you‑can‑eat courses when a coupon is presented at ordering and checkout. The discount can be combined with age‑based price reductions: elementary‑school children pay half price, preschoolers eat for free, and seniors receive a ¥500 discount. Certain courses, including premium beef and Korean‑style hot‑pot sets, are covered, while the coupon is not valid during the August 8‑16 Obon period and requires a minimum bill of ¥5,500 for two people.

Fujiko Restaurant is offering a nationwide “Kids Menu Half‑Price Campaign” from July 25 to August 31. Selected kids‑focused dishes such as the “Peco‑chan Lunch,” “Peco‑chan Meat‑Sauce Spaghetti,” and low‑allergen plates are sold at 50 % of their regular price, with the offer limited to children under elementary school age and excluding take‑out orders. The promotion is available at 29 locations across Japan, including flagship stores in Kobe, Tokyo, and Chiba.
