Japanese retailers report June sales declines
Eternal Hospitality Group announced that its June sales fell 0.6% year‑on‑year, with existing stores posting a 3.1% decline.
Yamada Holdings reported its June segment results, showing a 5.8% drop in the electronics segment, while the housing‑building segment rose 28.5%, the finance segment 6.0% and the environment segment 5.6%. Air‑conditioner sales fell sharply due to cooler weather and typhoons. The company’s store count stood at 928 after opening one new outlet, closing three, and renovating two.
Both companies are based in Japan and disclosed their monthly performance as part of routine corporate reporting.
