Japanese schools host intensive English and global studies programs

Japanese educational institutions have conducted specialized English-language programs to enhance students' international communication skills.

Kamakura Women's University Junior and Senior High School held a two-day intensive English training session on August 24 and 25. Led by foreign instructors, students participated in small-group activities focused on the four language skills. The curriculum included self-introductions, group work, and recreation designed to build confidence in communicating exclusively in English.

Toshimagaoka Girls' Junior and Senior High School implemented a five-day Global Studies Program from August 17 to August 21. Conducted entirely in English, the program utilized international students as group leaders to facilitate discussions on identity, diversity, and global issues. Students applied methodologies such as Design Thinking and Storytelling to propose solutions for social challenges in various countries, concluding with individual presentations.
