Japanese schools host summer open campus events

Educational institutions in Japan held summer open campus events to engage prospective students.

Hiramatsu Gakuen hosted an open campus on August 8, attracting approximately 1,600 junior high school students from within and outside Oita Prefecture. The event featured experiential lessons across various specialized tracks, including general studies, dental hygiene, international studies, commerce, nursing, and information processing. The program also included performances by the brass band and baton twirling clubs.

Yachiyo Shoin Gakuen held an open school event for its junior high school baseball club on August 23. The event focused on interactive play between elementary school participants and junior high school members, featuring activities such as batting, fielding, and the ‘Shoin Dream Challenge.’ The program emphasized peer-to-peer interaction and character building through sports.
