Japanese schools resume classes as national truancy parent convention opens
Schools in Matsuoka City, Mie Prefecture, including Matsue Elementary School, resumed classes following the summer break on September 1. At Matsue Elementary, Principal Katsuyuki Honda held an assembly where he encouraged students to embrace challenges without fear of failure and reminded them to stay vigilant regarding disaster preparedness and heatstroke prevention.
In Shiga Prefecture, the first national convention for parents of children experiencing school refusal was held in Omihachiman City. Hosted at the G-NET Shiga Prefectural Gender Equality Center, the event focused on exploring ways to foster secure and supportive relationships between parents and children.
