Japanese sports clubs launch fundraising for disaster relief

Sports organizations in Japan are conducting fundraising activities to support victims of recent natural disasters.

Chiba Lotte Marines announced a donation campaign at ZOZO Marine Stadium from October 1 to October 6. As part of their ‘MARINES LINKS’ social contribution project, the club will collect donations to assist those affected by Typhoon 25 in Chiba Prefecture. Donation boxes will be available at various stadium locations, and players are scheduled to participate in fundraising activities on October 2, 3, and 4.

Separately, Nara Club reported the results of its ‘J.League TEAM AS ONE’ fundraising efforts held during home games in August and September. The collected funds, totaling 82,784 yen for the Kumamoto earthquake and 22,689 yen for the August Chiba heavy rain, will be delivered to the affected areas through the Japanese Red Cross Society.
