Japanese students participate in marine conservation activities
Students in Japan participated in marine conservation activities to promote environmental awareness and support local ecosystems.
In the Nagahama district of Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, approximately 30 elementary school students participated in an event organized by a local marine civil engineering company. The children released about 2,000 juvenile rockfish (kasago) into the sea to learn about port maintenance and the importance of ocean conservation.
In Ie Village, Okinawa, about 40 sixth-grade students and teachers from Ie and Nishi elementary schools engaged in a fishery revitalization project. The participants released approximately 1,000 juvenile largescale emperor bream (taman) and participated in coral planting activities near the Ie Village Ice Plant to help protect the local marine environment.
