Japanese tonkatsu chains launch discount promotions

Japanese tonkatsu and katsudon specialty chains are holding promotional discount events.

Katsuya is hosting its second "Appreciation Festival" from August 10 to August 14. During this period, four popular menu items—including pork cutlet curry and specific katsudon varieties—are discounted by 150 yen. Additionally, the chain is offering free large rice portions for bowls, sets, and lunch boxes.

Katsudon Kichibei will hold a one-day appreciation event on August 27. Through its official app, customers can access coupons to purchase its signature "Back Loin Egg-Topped Katsudon (Regular)" for 600 yen, a reduction from the usual 880 yen. The promotion is available at select locations in Hyogo, Osaka, and Tokyo.
