Japanese tourist attacked and robbed in Bangkok

A 43-year-old Japanese tourist was attacked and robbed by a group of six teenagers in an overgrown area near the Makkasan Airport Rail Link station in Bangkok on August 12.

The victim, identified as Yuki, reportedly wandered into the wooded area behind the station by mistake. As he attempted to exit, six youths on two motorcycles approached him and demanded money. When he stated he had none, the group restrained him. The assault included the victim being struck on the back of the head with a rock and being punched in the mouth.

A local man, Athit, discovered the injured man seeking help and transported him to a hospital. The victim reported losing a credit card and shoes during the incident. Bangkok police leadership and investigators have visited the scene to collect evidence and are currently working to identify and apprehend the suspects.
