Japanese university footballers Ryunosuke Nakayama and Shouei Yamamoto earn 2026/27 JFA‑J‑League special player status

Ryunosuke Nakayama, a 22‑year‑old midfielder from Tokai University, was certified on 29 July 2026 as a 2026/27 JFA‑J‑League Special Designated Player. Iwaki FC announced that he will join the club for the 2026/27 season, with a contract running from 1 January 2027 to 30 June 2030.

Shouei Yamamoto, a 22‑year‑old forward from Osaka University of Economics, was likewise certified on 29 July 2026 as a 2026/27 JFA‑J‑League Special Designated Player. The announcement was posted on the official Ehime FC website, confirming his designation for the upcoming season.
