Japanese youth football: U-21 J-League begins and ECLOGA U-18 action unfolds

The new U-21 J-League has officially commenced, beginning with a Tokyo Derby between U-21 FC Tokyo and U-21 Tokyo Verdy. In the opening match of the East League round, FC Tokyo secured a 3-0 victory. Shuto Nagano opened the scoring in the 10th minute, followed by two goals from Kiwa Tanaka in the 68th and 84th minutes, including a penalty.

In separate youth development action at the ECLOGA U-18 in Toyota, Shohei High School faced Nagoya U-18. First-year striker Miura Otsukoro scored twice, including a powerful strike in the second half, though Shohei High School ultimately lost the match 2-4. Otsukoro, a former U-16 Japan national team player, highlighted his focus on physical conditioning and shooting practice to improve his performance in the upcoming Premier League season.
