Japan's Aviation Museums Unveil New Boeing and Flying‑Car Exhibits in August

The Aviation Science Museum in Narita is running a special exhibition titled “World Connecting Boeing” from 1 August to 31 August. The show displays scale models and archival material on Boeing’s jetliners—including the 747 “Jumbo Jet,” 787, 777X and 737 MAX—and highlights the aircraft’s role in linking people and cultures. The exhibit is part of the STEM education event “Newton in a Box Japan,” co‑hosted by the Narita International Airport Company and Boeing, marking the first such collaboration in Asia.

At Haneda Airport, Japan Airlines’ JAL SKY MUSEUM opened a refreshed display on 1 August. The museum now permanently features the “SoraCruise by Japan Airlines” immersive flying‑car experience first shown at the Osaka‑Kansai Expo, using vibration‑haptic technology to simulate eVTOL travel. In addition, the museum presents archival items from the airline’s 1960s‑80s Douglas DC‑8 service, and runs an AI‑driven virtual‑fit trial for JAL staff uniforms until 31 August. The museum shop was also updated with sustainable merchandise.
