Japan's 'GTO' drama revives 2026 series and inspires fashion T‑shirt collaboration

The Japanese school drama "GTO" returns as a weekly series on Kansai TV/Fuji TV, premiering on July 20, 2026 at 10 p.m. The new production stars Tatsuya (反町隆史) as teacher Eikichi Onizuka and follows his hiring at a private academy, the challenges he faces with staff and students, and a promised “shocking development” within the first four minutes of the initial episode.

Street‑wear label GDC has launched a three‑item T‑shirt collection featuring iconic scenes from the revived series. The garments, priced at ¥9,900 each, were made available for pre‑order at ZOZOVILLA at noon on the drama’s launch day. A special event on August 18 at Zepp DiverCity in Odaiba will showcase and sell the collection, tying the fashion release to the television launch.
