Japan’s Hatsukaichi and Saitama Hold Summer Fireworks Festivals
The city of Hatsukaichi in Hiroshima prefecture will host the “Yoshikazu Summer Festival” on August 11. The event features a daytime sunflower garden with activities such as sunflower picking and corn harvesting, followed by evening stage performances by singers Mizuki and Makine, food stalls, and a display of 3,000 fireworks that begin at 19:55. If weather conditions are poor, the program may be postponed.
Saitama City’s annual fireworks show is scheduled for July 25 at Ōwada Park. The festival will launch roughly 3,500 fireworks and includes extensive traffic restrictions, designated bicycle parking areas, and around 200 vendor stalls and kitchen‑car sites. Attendees are advised to use public transportation, stay hydrated, and follow security directions during the event.
