Japanese high school baseball tournaments begin across regions
The 108th National High School Baseball Championship continues with regional rounds in several prefectures. In East Tokyo, the second‑round matches of the tournament were held on July 6 at the national championship venue. In Kyoto, three stadiums hosted second‑round games on July 9, featuring teams such as East‑Mazu‑Umi‑Tango Green Wind and Kyoto Yahata. Meanwhile, the first round of the Tochigi qualifier took place on July 10 in Utsunomiya at the Aijeck Stadium, Kiyohara Ballpark and Maoka Hightra Sports Park, with schools including Utsunomiya University‑affiliated, Oyamaboku, Ashikawa and others competing for advancement. These matches are part of the broader summer high‑school baseball season that leads to the celebrated national tournament at Koshien Stadium.
