Japan's unbeaten streak against Europe reaches ten games

Japan’s national football team drew 2‑2 with the Netherlands in Texas, extending its unbeaten run against European sides to ten matches – eight wins and two draws. The streak, which began in the 2022 World Cup group stage, includes victories over Germany, Spain, Serbia, Croatia, Turkey, Scotland, England and Iceland.

Coach Hajime Moriyasu expressed disappointment with the draw but praised the team’s tenacity ahead of the next World Cup group match against Tunisia. The Japanese supporters also made headlines by cleaning the Dallas stadium after the game, and Moriyasu was seen using a whiteboard to convey tactics during play.
