Japeri launches Guandu Verde tourist signage project

The City of Japeri has inaugurated new tourist signage as part of the ‘Guandu Verde’ project. The initiative involved the installation of 15 signs designed to guide residents and visitors regarding the region's natural attractions and necessary preservation measures.

Funded through environmental compensation from the company Granado, the signage provides critical safety information, including warnings about drowning risks at Prainha and in the strong currents of the Guandu River. It also includes alerts prohibiting littering and the lighting of fires in the area.

The project was a collaborative effort between the Municipal Secretariats of Tourism and the Environment. Officials stated that the initiative aims to increase environmental awareness, enhance visitor safety, and promote the conservation of the Guandu River's ecosystem, which is vital for local water supply and biodiversity.
