Jaraguá do Sul man missing after falling into Itapocu River

A 64-year-old man disappeared after falling into the Itapocu River in Jaraguá do Sul, Brazil, during the early hours of Saturday. According to the Military Police, the incident occurred near the Beira Rio bridge in the Vila Nova neighborhood.

Before the incident, the man reportedly indicated an intention to jump into the river. While police initially saw him moving toward the riverbank, low light conditions caused them to lose visual contact. Despite search efforts by the Volunteer Fire Department using a boat, the man was not located.
