Jared Goff ranked 11th in NFL.com preseason quarterback rankings

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff has been ranked 11th overall in NFL.com’s preseason quarterback tier rankings, placing him just outside the top 10. Despite finishing last season second in the league in both passing yards and passing touchdowns, Goff was placed in Tier 2 behind quarterbacks such as Dak Prescott, Joe Burrow, and Caleb Williams.

The rankings have faced criticism following the season opener, specifically regarding the placement of New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye. While Maye was ranked fourth in the preseason tiers, he struggled in a 13-10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, throwing three fourth-quarter interceptions. Some analysts have argued that Goff, a proven veteran, should be ranked higher than Maye given the latter's recent performance.
