Jared Kushner's investments face U.S. Congressional investigation
U.S. Representative Robert Garcia, a senior member of the House Oversight Committee, has launched an investigation into the Middle Eastern business dealings of Jared Kushner. The inquiry follows a CNN report revealing links between Kushner’s investment firm, Affinity Partners, and companies supporting the Israeli military.
Affinity Partners is identified as the largest shareholder in Phoenix Financial, an Israeli-based firm. Phoenix Financial reportedly holds investments exceeding 456 million dollars in at least nine companies that provide weapons and military equipment to the Israeli army, including Elbit Systems. While Affinity Partners does not hold direct shares in these defense firms, it benefits financially through its stake in Phoenix Financial.
Garcia is seeking detailed information to determine if Kushner’s private financial gains, particularly in the context of his previous diplomatic role regarding Gaza, constitute a conflict of interest. Kushner’s legal counsel has denied the allegations, stating that Kushner has no involvement in or influence over the investment decisions made by Phoenix Financial.
