Jari-Matti Latvala Wins WRC2 at Jyväskylä Rally, Credits Sports Psychology

Finnish rally veteran Jari‑Matti Latvala, 41, claimed victory in the WRC2 class at the Jyväskylä World Rally Championship round in Himoks, Finland. He finished more than 21 seconds ahead of Estonia’s Robert Virves and 37.5 seconds ahead of fellow Finn Teemu Suninen.

Latvala said personal difficulties had affected his performance in previous seasons and that working with sports psychologist Niilo Konttinen helped him refocus. The win marks his first WRC2 triumph after two runner‑up finishes and he hinted he may increase his rally program next year, though he does not yet feel ready for the top‑tier WRC1 class.
