Jarome Iginla reveals neurological health issues

Hockey Hall of Famer Jarome Iginla has disclosed that he is battling neurological issues, which he believes may be linked to metal toxicity from a cobalt hip implant. Speaking from his home in Lake Country, British Columbia, the former Calgary Flames captain stated that he underwent hip replacement surgery several years ago and has since faced complications.

Iginla noted that medications taken following the surgery have impacted his energy, weight, and speech. Additionally, he has been managing elevated mercury levels while medical professionals investigate whether there is a connection to the suspected cobalt reaction. He has spent over a year undergoing medical tests to determine the exact cause of his condition.

The health update follows fan concerns regarding his appearance and voice in a recent Amazon Prime video. Iginla expressed hope for a full recovery, stating that things are slowly coming under control.
