Jaron Ennis and Josh Kelly agree to January unification bout

Jaron Ennis and Josh Kelly have agreed to terms for a 154-pound unification bout, with a target date set for late January. The fight, which would see Ennis defend his WBA and WBO titles against Kelly’s IBF belt, is currently awaiting a finalized date and venue from DAZN and Matchroom.

Promoter Eddie Hearn indicated that discussions are also underway to arrange a follow-up unification fight between the winner of the Ennis-Kelly bout and Sebastian Fundora. This potential arrangement aims to accelerate Ennis’s path toward becoming undisputed in the division.

Kelly is coming off a decision victory against Bakhram Murtazaliev and recently underwent minor surgery to repair a broken nose. The January timeline provides additional recovery time for the fighter.
