Jaroslava Mahuchikh wins third European high jump title

Ukrainian high jumper Jaroslava Mahuchikh secured her third career European title at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham. Mahuchikh won the gold with a height of 1.97 meters, though she was unsuccessful in three attempts to clear 2.01 meters. Poland’s Maria Kozłowska and Montenegro’s Marija Vuković followed in second and third place, respectively, both clearing 1.95 meters.

In other notable results, Great Britain dominated the 4x100 meter relays, winning gold in both the women’s and men’s competitions. In the men’s triple jump, Italy’s Andy Díaz Hernández set a new national record with a jump of 18.15 meters to take the gold. Norway’s Henriette Jegere claimed her first European title in the women’s 400 meters, finishing in 49.04 seconds. Additionally, Ireland’s Keita O'Connor won the heptathlon, setting a new Irish record with 6,751 points.
