Jarrad Branthwaite linked to Real Madrid amid Everton leadership transition

Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite has been linked with a potential move to Real Madrid, though transfer analysts currently rate the deal as ‘Unlikely’. Real Madrid is reportedly monitoring the 24-year-old as long-term defensive cover, but the club already possesses four senior centre-backs. Everton has placed a valuation of approximately €93m (£80m) on the England international, who is under contract until June 2030. Manchester United is also noted as a competitor in the pursuit of the player.

At Everton, Branthwaite is increasingly viewed as a future leader for the club following the departures of several senior figures. While James Tarkowski remains the current captain, Branthwaite has captained the side during pre-season, signaling the club's intention to prepare him for a future leadership role. Despite his maturity and recent return to the England national team, statistical analysis suggests there are still areas for the defender to improve to fully realize his goal of becoming a primary club leader.
