Jarryd English announces independent bid for West Tamar Council

Jarryd English, a digital communications lead for Senator Tammy Tyrrell, has announced his candidacy for the West Tamar Council. Running as an independent, English stated that he is self-funded and believes that party politics should not influence local government decisions.

English, who was raised in a military family, expressed a desire to provide representation for younger demographics, noting that people under the age of 40 need a seat at the table to allow for potential renewal within the council. He is also aiming for the role of deputy mayor.
