JAS Motorsport and Pininfarina unveil Honda NSX Tensei restomod

JAS Motorsport and Pininfarina have unveiled the JAS Tensei, a high-performance restomod based on the original Honda NSX. The project aims to evolve the 1990s icon by combining its classic DNA with modern engineering and lightweight materials.

Pininfarina has completely redesigned the bodywork, replacing the original aluminum components with a carbon fiber construction. This modification results in a wider, lower, and more muscular silhouette while reducing the vehicle's dry weight to approximately 1,250 kg. The design incorporates active aerodynamics, including an active rear diffuser and a smooth underbody, to optimize airflow.

Under the hood, Judd Power has extensively modified the original Honda C30A engine, increasing its displacement to 3.5 liters. The new naturally aspirated V6 produces 414 hp at 8,300 rpm and 414 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. The engine features a new crankshaft, lightweight cylinder heads, and titanium valves, but utilizes fixed valve timing instead of the original VTEC system. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission, a carbon dual-plate clutch, and a Torsen limited-slip differential.
