Jasaraharja Putera pays compensation to earthquake victims in Maumere

PT Jasaraharja Putera has distributed compensation totaling Rp 72.5 million to the heirs of three passengers who died during an earthquake at Lorens Say Port in Maumere, Nusa Tenggara Timur. The earthquake, which occurred on August 15, 2026, caused damage to port buildings and resulted in several casualties.

The compensation was processed through Passenger Transport Service Liability Insurance (ATJP-PK). PT Jasaraharja Putera coordinated with PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (PELNI) to verify victim data and complete the necessary documentation to ensure the benefits reached the rightful heirs.

Suhardiman, acting Director of Finance, General & HR at PT Jasaraharja Putera, stated that the company aimed for a rapid response to fulfill protection rights. PELNI's Director of Passenger Transport Business, Nuraini Dessy, emphasized that the safety and insurance certainty of all PELNI passengers remain a top priority.
