Jashore schoolgirl murder: Case filed against eight ISKCON members

A legal case has been filed in Jashore against eight individuals, identified as members of ISKCON, for the alleged murder of Shipra Ghosh, a tenth-grade student at Bhaturia Secondary School.

The complainant, Papon Kumar Ghosh, the victim's brother, alleges that the suspects had been harassing and sexually molesting Shipra on her way to school. According to the complaint, the group attacked the family home on September 18 while the victim's brother was away. The suspects reportedly assaulted Shipra and her elderly mother, eventually strangling the student with a cloth and hanging her by her scarf from a bamboo frame.

Following the incident, the victim was taken to Jessore General Hospital, where doctors declared her dead. A senior judicial magistrate has ordered local police to submit a report regarding the filing of the case.
