Jasmin Halilović appointed President of Živinice City Council

Jasmin Halilović has been appointed as the new President of the Živinice City Council, replacing Nail Jusić. During the election, Halilović notably abstained from voting for his own appointment.

Jusić was removed from his position following his arrest and the confirmation of an indictment involving nine criminal offenses committed between 2016 and 2026. The charges against Jusić include abuse of office, bribery for influence peddling, and forgery of official documents.

The indictment alleges that Jusić facilitated illegal employment in public institutions, improperly influenced the appointment of members to the City Election Commission and the City Council's professional commission, and attempted to favor an individual in a construction land ownership matter. Furthermore, he is accused of influencing an official at the International University of Goražde to issue fraudulent diplomas for five individuals, including three of his family members, who had not attended classes or passed exams.
