Jasmine Paolini knocked out in first round of Eastbourne, drops out of top 15 in WTA rankings

Italian No. 15 Jasmine Paolini was eliminated in the opening round of the WTA 250 tournament in Eastbourne, losing 6‑4 6‑3 to Germany's Tatjana Maria. The defeat ends her uninterrupted presence in the top‑15 since February and pushes her to No. 17 with 2,423 ranking points, with a risk of sliding to 18th or 19th if rivals Ekaterina Alexandrova or Anna Kalinskaya advance in upcoming events.

Paolini also reunited with fellow Italian Sara Errani for the doubles draw, making their first partnership of the season on June 23. The pair will face Daria Jurak Schreiber and Antonia Ruzic in their debut match.

The singles and doubles fixtures are scheduled for television on SuperTennis and Sky Sport and will be streamed via SuperTennis, Sky Go, NOW and OA Sport live text.
