Jasmine Salinas reaches first NHRA final at Sonoma Raceway

Part‑time Top Fuel driver Jasmine Salinas surprised the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series at Sonoma Raceway. Qualifying seventh with a 3.751‑second run at 331.77 mph, she entered eliminations with limited data but capitalised on race‑day runs.

Salinas eliminated Josh Hart, points leader Shawn Langdon and Leah Pruett, advancing to her first career final. She ultimately faced reigning champion Doug Kalitta, who captured his seventh Sonoma title. Salinas credited her crew chiefs Todd Okuhara and Adem Cave and the experience gained in the IHRA series for the breakthrough, highlighting the challenge of competing with far fewer test runs than full‑time teams.
