Jasna Góra hosts major religious pilgrimages

Several religious pilgrimages recently took place at Jasna Góra in Poland. The 44th National Pilgrimage of Working People, organized by NSZZ Solidarność, was held on September 19–20. Participants prayed for the nation and for workers, guided by the theme: ‘Mother of Jasna Góra, teach us to love the Church, which is our home’.

During the event, Archbishop Józef Kupny delivered a homily emphasizing the responsibility to uphold social and legal orders rooted in divine law, noting that Solidarność served as a collective witness to human dignity and truth. A letter from President Karol Nawrocki was read by Zbigniew Bogucki, stressing the duty of state authorities and unions to protect the dignity of workers.

Additionally, the 10th anniversary of the ‘Men’s Siege of Jasna Góra’ was observed. This pilgrimage brings together men from various communities and professions to strengthen their faith and build supportive relationships. Participants described the event as a spiritual experience focused on conversion, community engagement, and finding renewed energy for their roles in families and parishes.
