Jasło police detain man after roof standoff and graffiti incident

Police in Jasło detained a 31-year-old man following a standoff on the roof of an 11-story apartment building on Baczyńskiego Street. The incident began early Thursday morning after witnesses reported large graffiti on the building's facade and a man on the roof.

During the intervention, the man attempted to flee into a residential unit by entering through a window, where he damaged a door. After failing to escape, he returned to the roof. Officers utilized negotiation skills to calm the individual and prevent a potential fall.

Investigations revealed that the man had also damaged an Audi parked in front of the building while painting the graffiti. Furthermore, authorities determined he had been driving under the influence of drugs; testing confirmed the presence of amphetamine in his system. Total damages are estimated at approximately 10,000 PLN. Firefighters from the Jasło State Fire Service assisted police with inspections due to the height of the graffiti.
