Jason Kelce faces scrutiny for lack of neutrality in ESPN broadcasts
Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce is facing scrutiny from ESPN and fans for failing to maintain neutrality during broadcasts. Despite previously promising on his ‘New Heights’ podcast to avoid bias, Kelce has repeatedly referred to the Eagles as “we” during recent game calls.
During a broadcast in London involving an Eagles loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, and again during a Monday Night Football game against the Chicago Bears, Kelce’s lack of impartiality was noted by co-host Pat McAfee and production staff. ESPN producer Jeff Dufine stated that the network is working to “get the ‘we’ out of him.”
Kelce, who retired in 2024 after 13 seasons with the Eagles, signed a three-year, $24 million deal with ESPN. He currently appears on Monday Night Countdown and is scheduled for additional NFL Network coverage later this year.
