Jason Koon Inducted into Poker Hall of Fame as Sole 2026 Member

Super‑high‑roller Jason Koon was elected the 66th member of the Poker Hall of Fame, becoming the only inductee from the Class of 2026. With more than $77 million in tracked lifetime winnings, Koon ranks third on the all‑time money list and met the Hall’s criteria of age, sustained high‑stakes performance and peer respect.

The induction came after the World Series of Poker altered its voting process to allow multiple nominees, but only Koon reached the required two‑thirds majority. Players Daniel Negreanu and Scott Seiver publicly criticized the system, noting that a ranked‑choice voting proposal they had championed was not adopted and that the current method left other qualified players such as Shaun Deeb, Justin Bonomo and Isaac Haxton out of the Hall. Seiver also suggested giving nominees a brief blurb to help voters assess accomplishments.
