Jason Krips to step down as AFPA president and CEO

Jason Krips will step down as president and CEO of the Alberta Forest Products Association (AFPA) at the end of the calendar year. Krips plans to join the executive team at the University of Alberta.

During his nearly seven-year tenure, Krips led the association through various challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, organizational restructuring, record-breaking wildfire seasons, and trade issues with the United States. He is credited with strengthening relationships with government and industry partners and advocating for the competitiveness of Alberta’s forest sector.

Krips will remain with the AFPA through the end of 2026 to support the board executive during the recruitment process for his successor. Dyon Armstrong, Chair of the AFPA Board of Directors, expressed gratitude for Krips’ leadership and commitment to collaboration.
