Jason Landry's remains identified after six-year disappearance

Skeletal remains discovered in Caldwell County, Texas, have been identified through DNA testing as Jason Landry, a 21-year-old Texas State University student who had been missing since December 2020.

Landry disappeared nearly six years ago after crashing his vehicle while driving toward his home in Missouri City. While his car and personal belongings were located near Luling shortly after his disappearance, his body was not found until recently. On September 18, a resident discovered the remains in the 1400 block of Biggs Road.

DNA analysis conducted by the University of North Texas Center of Human Identification confirmed the identity. The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office stated that the remains do not provide insight into the cause or manner of death and noted there is no indication of foul play. The Texas Attorney General’s Cold Case Unit, in collaboration with local law enforcement and the Texas Department of Public Safety, assisted in the investigation.
