Jason Paul Thorn, high‑risk sex offender, to move into Regina’s Heritage neighbourhood

The Regina Police Service issued a public notice that 49‑year‑old Jason Paul Thorn, classified as a high‑risk sexual offender, will take residence in a home on the city's Heritage neighbourhood on Monday. Police emphasized the warning is intended to help residents take appropriate precautions and not to encourage vigilantism.

Thorn was released on statutory parole on July 27 and will remain under a long‑term supervision order until March 2027. The Parole Board of Canada stipulated a comprehensive set of conditions, including mandatory treatment for sexual deviance, trauma and substance abuse, regular psychological and psychiatric counseling, abstinence from alcohol and non‑prescribed drugs, and strict prohibitions on contact with children under 18 unless approved and supervised.

Authorities urged community members to report any breaches of the conditions and to remain vigilant, especially around places where children gather.
