Victoria, B.C. serves as backdrop for new Jason Priestley drama

Private Eyes West Coast Jason Priestley Cindy Sampson Victoria British Columbia television spin-off

The new television comedy-drama Private Eyes West Coast, a spin-off of a popular series that ran from 2016 to 2021, has been filmed in Victoria, British Columbia. The production features several local landmarks and businesses, including the Fairmont Empress Hotel, Barb’s Fish and Chips, Harbour Air, and the Victoria Butterfly Gardens.

Starring Jason Priestley and Cindy Sampson, the series introduces a significant shift in character dynamics. The protagonists, Shade and Angie, are now married with a child, moving away from the previous ‘will they, won’t they’ romantic tension to focus on solving cases as a family. Priestley and Sampson expressed enthusiasm for the reboot, noting that the new iteration aims to heighten the humor while maintaining the heart of the original series.
