Jasprit Bumrah to undergo fitness tests ahead of Afghanistan series

Jasprit Bumrah and three other Indian players are scheduled to undergo match simulation tests between September 4 and September 9 to determine their readiness for the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan. While the medical team has declared Bumrah, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar, and Harshit Rana fit, the BCCI requires field-based simulations at the Centre of Excellence before granting final clearance.

In anticipation of potential fitness issues, Prince Yadav has emerged as a potential backup for Bumrah. Yadav, who has recovered from a hamstring injury, has recently demonstrated strong form in white-ball cricket following his performances in the IPL.
