Jasprit Bumrah trains with red ball ahead of India's challenging cricket schedule

On July 5, 2026, India’s fast‑bowler Jasprit Bumrah was seen bowling with a red SG ball during a practice session at the Gujarat College Ground in Ahmedabad. The training, shared on his Instagram, is aimed at preparing him for a heavy international itinerary.

Bumrah will feature in the three‑match One‑Day International series against England starting July 14, the two‑Test series against Sri Lanka from August 15‑27, and the two‑Test series against New Zealand beginning November 19. He is also slated to play T20 matches at the Asian Games in September. The bowler, who has taken 234 Test wickets at an average of 19.79, 149 ODI wickets and 121 T20I wickets, has been rested from recent T20 series against Ireland and England to focus on the upcoming red‑ball commitments.

His preparation comes as India eyes a stronger position in the World Test Championship, needing consistent performances from its pace attack.
