JASSAD Festival celebrates female directors in Rabat

The fourth edition of the JASSAD International Festival of Female Directors is being held in Rabat from October 27 to 30. The festival focuses on intercultural dialogue and female-led theatrical creation.

This year’s edition honors Moroccan actress Amal Benhadou for her artistic career and dedication to teaching. Organized by Naïma Zitan and artistic director Issam El Yousfi, the event includes a colloquium on female theatrical criticism, professional meetings for female directors, and a master class led by Mouna Belghali.

The program features various international and local works, including the Egyptian play ‘Tsebehy Ala Kher Ya Mama’ directed by Nour Ismaïl, and ‘Lettres du pavillon des morts’ by Greek director Natalia Georgosopoulou. The festival will conclude with the Moroccan play ‘Dialy’ by Naïma Zitan.
