TPA Jatiwaringin Fire Extinguished, Cooling Operations Ongoing

The 15‑hectare blaze at the Jatiwaringin landfill (TPA) in Mauk, Tangerang, Banten began on 30 June 2026. On 10 July, BNPB announced the fire had been fully extinguished, with the main area “padam 100 persen” and now in an intensive cooling phase. Abdul Muhari said the operation involved a joint emergency team deploying four water‑bombing helicopters—Mi‑8 AMT, Sikorsky UH‑60A and UH‑60L—and additional ground logistics such as 500 L of fire‑suppressing foam, mini‑pumps, hoses and hand‑held radios. The agency also delivered 100 food packages and 150 pairs of boots to affected residents. No evacuees remain; the local community has been allowed to return home. While the core fire zone is under control, crews continue to monitor hotspots and thin smoke plumes around the outer dump area to prevent re‑ignition.
