Jaume Plensa artwork to be installed in Murcia City Council

The artist Jaume Plensa is expanding his presence in Murcia, Spain, with the temporary installation of his work ‘Overflow (Study) IV’ in the hall of the Murcia City Council. Created in 2013 and part of the V. Serna Collection, the piece will be on display until December 8. This installation complements the ‘Materia interior’ exhibition at the Cárcel Vieja Contemporary Culture Center, which has already seen over 110,000 visitors.

In addition to the local exhibition, Plensa’s work is featured in an online auction by the Swiss auction house Piguet. The auction includes ‘Cristina’s frozen dreams’ (2010), a glass sculpture estimated to be valued between 63,660 and 84,880 euros. The piece utilizes three-dimensional scanning of a real subject to create an anamorphic deformation that changes perception based on the viewer's angle.

Looking ahead, Murcia is scheduled to host an international congress dedicated to Plensa’s life, work, and artistic thought from January 13 to 16, 2027.
